A Dry Tree Becomes Green

Sant Ji: commenting on hymn of Bhai Gurdas: - only by going to the satsang of the living Master can our soul awaken - satsang is necessary for everyone - when we sit together in remembrance of the Master, He is present - looking at other devotees inspires us to do the devotion - no matter how many good karmas we do, they will not help unless we do the satsang - no matter how bad we are, we become good by coming to the Master - soul has become dry but satsang makes her green and alive again - story of a queen who was attracted to the Master and satsang and did the devotion in spite of her husbands opposition - how much this upset the king who took one of her sandals - and how Master protected her honor, eventually brought the king into the satsang and he started doing the devotion - if disciples are good, they bring a good name to the Master - if they are bad, they bring a bad name to the Master - when we pray with all sincerity, He always protects our honor - we have as many sins as drops in the ocean - giving up the ego we have to develop humility - only by going in the satsang can we know about our shortcomings and give up the sins
