Há 20 anos, o Ford EcoSport dava início a uma febre no Brasil: a dos SUVs. Responsável por catapultar o segmento que, à época, não chegava a representar 5% do mercado, o "Fiesta tamanho família" fez a carroceria se alastrar como uma verdadeira pandemia. Não à toa, hoje os SUVs são figuras dominantes. Segundo a Fenabrave, o segmento foi o responsável por 43,84% dos licenciamentos em 2022. No acumulado deste ano, até agosto, os utilitários esportivos representam 45,77% dos emplacamentos de automóveis no país.
