A Fact-Checked Edition of RRR # 1,291 April 13, 2025

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. Do you know who these fellows are? They’re Wilhelm Levkowitz and Isadore Levkowitz, but better known by their stage names, Willie and Eugene, the Howard Brothers. You’ll hear all about them and hear two sides by Willie, as well as a tune credited to them both, in the second segment of this week’s show. In other segments, we’ll celebrate the birthdays of Yip Harburg and Loyal Curtis. We’ll also do some fact-checking and celebrate Arbor Day a little early. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience. THANKS FOR LISTENING! ENJOY THE SHOW!
