Welcome to a new week here on the Retirement Quick Tips podcast! I'm your host, Ashley Micciche. One of the fun things about being a financial advisor is that I get to peek into the financial lives of many different people, even before they become a client. One of the first things I request from a new potential client is a copy of their investment account statements so I can see what types of accounts they have (brokerage accounts, IRAs, Roths, etc), and how they're invested across those accounts.  And sometimes, an uncomfortable conversation I have with a new potential client involves getting the backstory on why they're invested the way they are. Most of the time, I'm trying to figure out their preferences and risk tolerance, but occasionally, I'm trying to figure out why they own a particular investment that is not appropriate for them.
