America lost a true fighter for civil rights when Rep. John L. Lewis, the Georgia Democrat, succumbed to his long battle with cancer.Lewis spent his life battling for voting rights for all people, including people of color. He shed blood in this cause when he was just a young man, and he never stopped literally until the day he died.He fought hard so people of color could have the right to vote, something that Donald Trump and the Republicans try to deny, to this day.
