A Floating Axe Head

There are some miracles in the Bible that just seem kind of crazy. In this story about the Prophet Elisha from 2 Kings 6:1-7 we read about a guy chopping a tree and his axe head suddenly flies into the Jordan River. He cries out to Elisha that the axe was borrowed. No big deal, Elisha throws a stick in the water and the axe head "swims" to the stick and attaches itself. What the heck is the meaning of this strange miracle?
