"A Good & Honorable Man" by Alyss B

from West Hills Friends · host West Hills Friends

In the spirit of Jesus's statement, "the last shall be first," Alyss talked about her experience in visiting a historic site in England where the "Ship of State" perpetuated injustices. This, unfortunately, is an ongoing theme today. She reminded us how the "least of these" in society are equally deserving of the comfort of heaven, and prompted the community to consider how we might be dehumanizing others in order to keep our status as good and honorable people. She challenged us to consider our role in addressing the power of the Ship of State with the compassion of Christ's power of Love.
