Health education programs that cover conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or hypertension are part of preventative care and disease management. Back in the day, As a Respiratory therapist in acute care, I wondered why some communities were sicker than others or didn't fully understand the cause of "frequent flyers," that return over and over again to the ER for the same issues. Are you in acute care and you want to help communities increase their quality of life? Maybe consider taking a role in health education and promotion for COPD, Asthma,  or cystic fibrosis for example.
