A grizzly bear

Today I had a picture of a grizzly bear (ursus arctos 'horribilus'). I am reminded of how a 'horrible' image was transformed into the ongoing popularity of teddy bears since their creation over a hundred years ago. I further reflect that Love can transform horrible situations. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, as often read at weddings, describes perfect love as being patient, kind, not envying, not boasting, not being proud, not self-seeking, not easily angered, not keeping a record of wrongs etc. We cannot achieve that perfect love but God is Love and extends all those attributes towards us. The more time we spend with God the more we can learn to love and to exercise love, positively impacting and changing others and the situation around us - from a grizzly bear to a teddy bear so to speak.
