A “Haul Ash” Edition of RRR # 1,316 October 5, 2025

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. Do you know who this cowboy is? He’s Bill Boyd and he’s not just a “drug store” cowboy, but the real thing. He was born and grew up on his family’s Texas ranch. You’ll find out more about him and hear three of his more than 200 recorded sides in the first segment of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records. In other segments, we’ll combine our “One Thing in Common” and vocabulary lesson bits into one segment and find ourselves down in a coal mint. We’ll also haul some ashes and go ape. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience. THANKS FOR LISTENING! ENJOY THE SHOW!
