A Helper Fit For Him

Today Devotional’s centers around the wife's role as a helper. Using an illustration of how freight trains travel through mountain peaks and valleys. In similar fashion, God in his infinite wisdom decided to give man a helper to power him through the mountain peaks and steep valleys of life. Also, the wife’s role as a helper is in no way less powerful than her husband just like the rear locomotive is no less powerful than the front locomotive. God created her with purpose and intention as a image bearer of the very image of God himself. Yet, what sets her apart is her role as a helper to her husband. Therefore, her submission is vital to the mission of their success as a unit. In similarity to a train’s mission to climb a steep mountain grade they will not make it up and over in one piece without the full harmonious cooperative use of the helper unit’s power.
