A hockey stick

Today I saw a hockey stick which, as we know, when swung around in the air and used incorrectly to hit an object or a person, can cause a lot of damage. However, when it is used for its correct purpose, positioned down on the ground to move a ball into a goal, then there is victory. We can equate this with us working together in the Body of Christ to secure victory, with our heads down in humility which does not mean we are beaten down but we are giving God the glory of our assured victory and we know that He will raise us up when we are ready. "To the elders among you ...Be shepherds of God's flock...not because you must, but because you are willing ... eager to serve, not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. (1 Peter 5:1-4). "All of you, clothe yourselves with humility towards one another, because 'God opposes the proud but shows favour to the humble' ...that He may lift you up in due time". (1 Peter 5:5-6.)
