A Holy Burden

This sermon introduces a new series on Nehemiah, focusing on chapter one to illustrate how God revives and reforms His people through holy burden, prayer, and covenant faithfulness. The preacher emphasizes that spiritual renewal begins not with human strategy but with God placing a heavy burden on the hearts of His servants for the condition of the church. By examining Nehemiah's response to the ruin of Jerusalem, the message highlights the necessity of honest confession, praising God's character before presenting needs, and trusting in Christ's redeeming work rather than circumstances. The central theme asserts that the future of the church rests entirely on the faithful promises of God, urging believers to cultivate a deep, intercessory concern for their fellow saints.
