Our journey today will take us to one of the largest and most important underground cemeteries in Rome, The Catacombs of St. Callixtus. They originated in about the middle of the second century. There are more than sixty catacombs in the city of Rome composed of miles of underground tunnels in which thousands of tombs are found.
