A Lament over Reproaches
from Enemies on SermonAudio Hosted by Keith Betry
This psalm has all of the elements of a lament: turning to God, complaint, asking, and trust. The problem is enemies that are drowning David in sorrow over reproaches. Even his family abandons him. In his response to this situation David serves as an example for believers in asking God for mercy and requesting justice to be served. In this David is a type of the future Christ. Many parts of this psalm are used in the New Testament and often applied to Christ.
