A Life in Music and Service: Dr. Joseph Holt of Choral Artists of Sarasota

In this episode of This is Sarasota’s Behind the Masterpiece, host Jeffery Kin talks with pianist, conductor, and musical director Dr. Joseph Holt about his life in music, the influence of mentors, and how creativity shapes a career. From growing up in a musical family to serving in the Army and performing around the world, Dr. Holt shares personal stories—including a hand injury that forced him to step away from the piano for a year, and his goal to keep growing and contributing without staying past his time. It’s an honest, thoughtful conversation about music, purpose, and what it means to keep doing the work you love.
