from Being Aloud · host Bee Bishay

And I know how much easier it is to turn to our phones for distraction from the frustrations we face on a day to day basis. I get sick of the email I've been trying to write for hours so I scroll through instagram. I’m waiting for my turn at the bank so I scroll through instagram. I’m not enjoying the company I'm with, so, you guessed it, I scroll through instagram–and tiktok and facebook and God knows what else. Our phones and TVs have become our numbing balms, because the alternative of actually sitting with our thoughts and feelings  is uncomfortable. We will do anything to get us out of processing our days. Anything at all to keep us from sitting with our thoughts and emotions. I get it.My name is Bee Bishay and you’re listening to another episode of the Being Aloud podcast. Today I invite you to dive with me into the importance of introspection.
