A Little Rumi from the Beach!

from Be An Adorable Badass · host Lisa Sullivan

This week’s episode comes to you from the salty breezes and rolling waves of St. Augustine Beach, Florida — the perfect setting for Rumi’s reminder: “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the ocean in a drop.”Together, we’ll dive into what it means to recognize your vastness, your power, and the truth that you hold the whole universe within you. Too often we feel small, invisible, or like just one more drop in the crowd. But the ocean doesn’t apologize for its waves — and neither should you.I’ll share reflections from the shoreline, weaving the wisdom of water into how you can flow through life with more grace, strength, and sparkle. Because when you remember you are the ocean in a drop, you stop shrinking and start shimmering. I'll even share a little meditation and sound from the waves!✨ Tune in and let’s ride the waves together!

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
