A Little Song, A Little Dance - The return of the movie musical

This week, Carsten & Stephen take a look at the return of the movie musical, with three new productions on the big and small screens starting with Steven Spielberg's highly anticipated remake of the Broadway and Hollywood classic West Side Story, plus modern musical maestro Lin-Manuel Miranda makes his directorial debut with his adaptation of Jonathan "Rent" Larson's tick, tick...BOOM! and sees his pre-Hamilton success In the Heights make it to the big screen earlier this year. There's also a look at the original West Side Story, the 2005 adaptation of Larson's Rent and the work of the late Stephen Sondheim, who collaborated with Leonard Bernstein on West Side Story and was a huge influence on the musicals that followed.
