A Little Treat

Send us Fan MailI was a sophomore in college when I first began dating my husband. I had just been awarded a college letter jacket for my role as the college's first woman football trainer. I was so proud of that jacket. Soon after receiving it, I went to lunch in the campus center and when I returned to the coat hooks, my jacket was gone. Someone took it. I was devastated, angry, and disappointed beyond words. I went to my dorm room and cried and cried. After a while, my phone rang and I heard the voice of my  new boyfriend, now my husband. What a treat in my day...to hear the voice of my heart-throb!! Suddenly, the loss of the jacket wasn't a big deal at all. My spirits had lifted above the gray cloud of that big loss. His voice brightened my day so much that I could move beyond despair. Treats in our bad days are like that...they move us beyond the gray.Thanks for listening.
