A Long Obedience in the Same Direction
We all know that frustrating feeling when life just doesn't make sense, when the puzzle pieces won't fit together no matter how hard we try. This message takes us deep into Psalm 37, where David wrestles with a question that still haunts us today: why do those who seem to ignore God's ways appear to prosper while we struggle in our faithfulness? But rather than offering easy answers, we're invited into something more profound. The wisdom here isn't about understanding everything, but about trusting and waiting even when the click of clarity never comes. David gives us two powerful anchors: trust God enough to actually do what His word says, and wait patiently for His timing. This isn't passive waiting, it's active obedience, a long obedience in the same direction. The beautiful truth is that God exists outside of time, and what feels like forever to us is just 15 more minutes to Him. We're reminded that the cross itself was the ultimate click moment for Israel, when centuries of waiting suddenly made perfect sense. Our calling is to keep walking faithfully, knowing that one day, perhaps on the other side of heaven, we'll look back and see how beautifully God wove everything together.
