A LOOK AT CHRISTMAS - THROUGH HUMAN EYES

from PASTOR TIM JUPP

“The birth of Christ was the incarnation of God: it was God taking upon himself human—a mystery, a wondrous mystery, to be believed in rather than to be defined.” — Charles Spurgeon"God chose the stable for His Son to be born in for a very important reason. You see, when God sent His only Son to live on this earth, He made a strategic decision not to shelter Him from the harsh realities of this life. God had no intention of shielding His Son by having Him born into the make-believe world of the rich and famous. For our sake, Jesus was given no aristocratic advantage. For our sakes He became poor, that through his poverty we might become rich."That first Christmas, earth was oblivious to the significance of some quiet, unassuming birth in some quiet, unassuming village. For the Father, the time had come to reconcile, Satan raged to stop the innocent birth and the angelic realm rejoiced to see the day! The ‘Word of God’ laid aside His reputation of glory, dignity and majesty to become one of us. ‘So He came unto His own but His own did believe Him.’ No, mankind rejected the Prince of Glory! We mocked, railed, assaulted and killed the one who came to save us. Humanity prefers Santa Claus, Rudolph and Frosty. Most of us try to see the spiritual side to the pagan synchronicity. But, oh believer, step into the light and see Christmas as scriptures alone can show you. See little Baby Jesus as the Anointed Saviour in a manger and rejoice with the angels. SONGS:WHAT CHILD IS THIS, KIDS CHOIRO COME ALL YE FAITHFUL, SOUTHEAST WORSHIPMESSIAH, GAS STREET WORSHIPTURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS, CHASE OAKS |
