A lot of Americans have trouble believing race plays a role in health disparities

COVID-19 has affected the lives of people living in the United States, but the data show the most dire repercussions of the pandemic have not been distributed evenly. So what's going on here? What's behind the inequality, and who's getting hit the hardest? And how does a country that has trouble getting on the same page about anything work together to level the playing field? The nonprofit RAND Corporation teamed up with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to conduct a survey of people from lower and middle incomes, with a focus on communities of color to look at how COVID-19 is affecting the physical and mental health of people most affected by this pandemic, along with their views, values, and experiences.
