A man who set fire to the governor’s mansion has pleaded guilty to attempted murder and other charges. Cody Balmer entered the plea today for the April fire that caused millions of dollars in damage to the residence. Governor Josh Shapiro and his family were inside and had to evacuate. Authorities say Balmer planned to beat the governor with a small sledgehammer if he encountered him. Balmer, who has a history of mental health problems, was sentenced to a term of 25-50 years in prison.
