As part of UFO Talker's Summer "Best Of" Repeat Series, we revisit one of the most fascinating and little-known Canadian UFO encounters on record.On October 24, 1970, near MacGregor, Manitoba, a young farmer named Gerald Adams reported an extraordinary experience that would eventually attract the attention of the RCMP, the Canadian Military, and the National Research Council of Canada.According to Adams, what began as the observation of a strange object in the night sky soon evolved into something far more remarkable. Returning to the location after dropping off his girlfriend, Adams reported encountering a landed UFO and observing a small humanoid figure wearing what appeared to be a metallic silver suit and helmet. He would later state that he approached to within approximately fifty feet of both the object and the figure.The case was taken seriously enough that Adams was interviewed by Captain G.M. Winterburn of the Canadian Forces Operations Centre. The interview was recorded on reel-to-reel tape, and correspondence involving the RCMP and government scientists followed.
