A Messy Inquiry Into the Origin of the Phrase Re'eh v'Anyeinu

Instead of trying to figure out Tehilim 25, we focused on the reason that brought us there in the first place: the opening phrase in the 7th berachah of the Shemoneh Esrei. The Abudirham traces this phrase to a pasuk in Tehilim, but it's unclear which pasuk he's referring to: Tehilim 119:153 or Tehilim 25:18. We decided to examine both sources in context in hopes of figuring out the "machlokess." Our analysis got FAR messier than I anticipated, and although I felt somewhat discouraged by where we ended up, the guys in the shiur still felt that it was worthwhile enough to upload. So here you go! I hope this leads to more insight than we got. And with that, our the 2020-2021 season of our Tehilim/Tefilah shiur comes to a close.
