According to Luke 15th chapter, Jesus told a story about two sons and their father. Often this is referred to as the parable of the prodigal son, although the word prodigal is not used in the scripture. Some find meaning in a surface level approach to the story. In other words, the younger son would represent sinners, the older son represent teachers of the law and the father representing God. What if there are other ways of finding meaning within the story?
