A Utah mother wrote a children's book about grief after her husband's death—while prosecutors say she was the one who killed him. Kouri Richins was convicted of poisoning Eric Richins with a lethal dose of fentanyl in 2022, then publishing a book to help her sons cope with the loss she caused. Her three boys, now ages 9 to 13, told the court they are terrified of her and asked that she never be released. The judge agreed, sentencing her to life without parole, calling her "too dangerous to ever be free."
