A Moment To Pause: Daily Prayer for Lent - Friday 6th March 2026

from A Moment to Pause - a short daily Christmas reflection · host The Oblates

Good morning and thank you for joining all of the Oblate Family today for our time of reflection and prayer during Lent with Padraig Corcoran, Director of Oblate Youth Ministry for today's short 90 second podcast. Jesus Christ tells the story of a landowner who planted a vineyard and entrusted it to tenants. When the time came to gather the fruit, the tenants refused to give the owner what was due. Instead of gratitude and responsibility, there was rejection. During Lent, this Gospel invites us to reflect on the vineyard God has entrusted to each of us — our lives, our faith, our relationships, and our gifts. Lent is a time to ask ourselves: What fruit am I producing? Am I living in a way that reflects God’s love and care? The religious leaders who heard this parable realised Jesus was speaking about them, yet rather than changing their hearts, they became defensive. Lent challenges us to do the opposite — to listen honestly, to accept where we fall short, and to allow God to guide us back to Him. The season of Lent is ultimately about renewal. God continues to trust us with His vineyard, inviting us to bear the fruits of faith, justice, and love. ✔ Subscribe for daily prayer with the Oblate family. ✔ Comment your prayer intention. ✔ Share this with your parish, family, or prayer group.
