A Moment To Pause: Friday January 23rd 2026 of Ordinary Time - Daily reflection #prayer podcast

from A Moment to Pause - a short daily Christmas reflection · host The Oblates

Good morning and thank you for joining our Oblate short time to pause, reflect and pray together on Friday January 23rd 2026 of Ordinary Time. Thanks to Mary O'Brien in Dublin for today's reflection:  In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. We begin our day with a time of reflection, prayer and consider our gospel, which today is from Mark 3:13-19 This is the gospel where Jesus appoints the twelve he will call Apostles. “He went up the mountain and called to him those whom he wanted …and he appointed twelve, whom he also named apostles, to be with him …” When we think of the twelve– we know Matthew was a tax collector, Peter would deny knowing Jesus, and Judas would betray him. So … they were ordinary people with their own faults and failings. We are called to be followers of Jesus .. but do we accept this calling, or do we feel we are not good enough … This gospel shows us that Jesus sees beyond our failings, sees us as people worthy to be his companions; people who can share his love with those we meet. Lord, I pray that today I may follow Christ in love, that my life may help others and that my weakness not hold me back. In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. #bible #prayer #podcast #faith #catholic
