A Moment To Pause: Thursday January 22nd 2026 of Ordinary Time - Daily reflection #prayer podcast

Good morning and thank you for joining our Oblate short time to pause, reflect and pray together on Thursday January 22nd 2026 of Ordinary Time. Thanks to Mary O'Brien in Dublin for today's reflection:  In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Together, we begin our day with a time of reflection and prayer as we consider our gospel text, which today is from Mark 3:7-12 This gospel follows directly from yesterday’s, where Jesus upset the Pharisees by curing a man on the Sabbath so now he leaves to take some time away with his disciples. In the Gospel we hear: “Jesus departed with his disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him; hearing all that he was doing, they came to him in great number …” So we learn that that the ordinary people were being greatly influenced by the teachings of Jesus…. They wanted to be touched and healed by Jesus, and we know that Jesus’ healing always called for a change of heart .. So today, Lord, I pray that I may open my heart to your word and the power of your Spirit. Give me love to discover your will and strength to carry it out.
