A Moment To Pause: Wednesday 15th July 2026

Welcome to our reflection today with Pauline Thomas from Anglesey, North Wales. Welcome to a Moment to Pause on this Wednesday 15th of July. Today's scripture reading is from the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 11, verses 25 to 27. In the gospel we hear Jesus praising the father, saying, “I give you praise Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, for though you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned, you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, father, such has been your gracious will.”  We hear from Jesus that a childlike disposition presents the most favourable condition that is receptive and responsive to the love of God, most open to the Holy Spirit. When I think of a little child, I see someone who has an open heart, boundless curiosity, simple and trusting, who lives with a sense of wonder. Let us pray that we live this day with these childlike qualities, with an open heart, with a readiness to receive the graces, to live this day well and with a sense of wonder as God reveals his love to each one of us.  May God's light shine through to those around us.
