A Moment To Pause: Wednesday 1st April 2026

from A Moment to Pause - a short daily Christmas reflection · host The Oblates

Welcome to a Moment to Pause with Br Michael Moore OMI as we journey through Holy Week.  Good morning and welcome to our morning prayer as we continue Holy week. We are present at a third meal today. Judas seals not only his own fate, but also Jesus’. He carries out the betrayal he began when they were eating together yesterday. Jesus repeats his words,‘one of you will betray me’. How do I feel when I hear Jesus speak like this? These are difficult words to hear, and the others at the table are greatly distressed, each one crying out, “Surely not, I, Lord!”Again we are called to be actively present as all this unfolds, not merely spectating from afar. How do I feel as his closest friends betray and deny Jesus? Let us pray that we will have the strength to stay with Jesus as this darkest hour gets nearer. We pray for our own intentions in silence. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Lord, give us the strength to stay with you these days of Holy Week, as we carry our cross and follow you. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
