A moon made of cheese

Today I saw a cheese grater, making me think of cheese and the nursery association of the moon being made of cheese. The moon has many constant and vital functions for our earth. Genesis 1, first book in the Bible tells us "...to separate the day from the night, to mark sacred times and days and years ... to give light on the earth ...the lesser light to govern the night ..." (Genesis 1:14-16). Also, the gravitational pull of the moon gives us our ocean tides, the mass of the moon stabilises the earth's vital and constant rotational tilt of 23.5 degrees which gives us our annual cycle of seasons. Animal behaviour is regulated by the moon, such as the Great Barrier Reef which coordinates its mass coral spawning with specific full moons, sea turtle hatchlings relying on the moon to navigate towards the ocean, migratory birds using the moon for night-time travel orientation, and so much more. We all need the moon but let us not forget to thank and worship our awesome creator God. He is not like a fictionary lump of cheese. We don't really believe that the moon is made of cheese or that its functions are insignificant so why attribute insignificance to its creator, God? In his Psalms, King David loved to worship God through His creation. "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place" (Psalm 8:3). Let us not reduce God to being of no importance in our lives or, at the very least, to non existence.
