A Most Gracious Gift

While tracing the beginning of the Jewish people, we studied the call of Abraham to leave his home for the Promised Land, the passing on of that promise to his descendants who were enslaved in Egypt, the series of ten plagues which ended when the "angel of the Lord" struck the first born in Egypt but spared those covered by the blood, their hurried exit from Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea so that the Israelites could cross on dry land, and the Lord leading them to Mount Sinai, where He gave His most gracious gift to mankind.
