A Most Violent Year

Set in 1981, historically New York City’s most violent year, Abel Morales (Oscar Isaac), an upwardly respectable owner of Standard Oil, has his limits tested while trying to run a clean business in a world of corrupt competition. When the DA office starts an open investigation of Standard Oil, Abel's wife, Anna (Jessica Chastain), takes matters into her own hands in order to protect her family by double checking the company books after years of skimming money off the top and funneling it into a hidden savings account. Things heat up when the bank supporting Standard Oil backs out due to the growing investigation which is continuously fueled by a misguided young employee (Julian) and several thieves running their own hidden scheme. We hop around to so many different topics throughout the course of this weeks show, we might as well call it “A Most Random Episode.” All this, and the realization that Martyn is really 85 years old and is apparently losing his eyesight…on this weeks episode of 3Amoviegos.
