I have been seeking family stories for so long. And I was so lucky to find this one to start a series on families, Open Nesting, and personal growth. Think of this as the first of many on inter-family communication. As it turns out I am very connected with these two women. Revi and Michelle, our first mother-daughter team on The Open Nesters. Learning to Communicate with Love Their Story (in Brief) Revi ended a 28-year relationship with her husband. And she began a new journey at that moment. She began asking questions, about her past and future. She met a new man. She looked deeply into herself and actually turned to her children with open ears… listening deeply… in many ways for the first time. It was a new openness in Revi’s life. Michelle, Revi’s daughter, is a marriage and family therapist. At the time of her mom’s divorce, there were a lot of mixed feelings. Relief certainly. But many other emotions as well… like anger. She found new courage, to speak up, to ask for what she needed. It was a big transition for her. Facing her own issues of addiction, she found that she could see, with clarity, that she too should be more open to her mother with great honesty.
