A mother's struggle with 811 trying to get medical help for her daughter

from The Andrew Carter Podcast · host CJAD 800

If you’ve ever called Quebec’s 811 health line, you may have experienced the frustration of waiting, sometimes for hours, to speak with a nurse or get a callback. The service is supposed to help people figure out whether they need to see a doctor, go to a clinic or head to the emergency room, but a new report from the Montreal Gazette highlights just how difficult it can be to actually get help. Teresa Tucci recently called 811 when her daughter was sick, and says she waited hours for a callback that never came. Teresa spoke to Andrew Carter.
