In this sermon, “A Name That Became a Warning,” we examine the reign of Jeroboam and the tragic legacy of a man who was given opportunity by God but allowed fear, convenience, and human wisdom to corrupt worship. Through his example, we are reminded that God’s people must worship in spirit and truth, trust God’s promises, respect His authority, and guard against any influence that leads others away from Him. Jeroboam’s failure ultimately points us to our need for a better King — Jesus Christ, whose reign brings righteousness, redemption, and hope.
