She has just taken a doctorate in Performance Studies at UH Manoa and has also just completed an award winning film called Blurring the Color Line. It will be shown on the America Reframed series on the World Channel. The film covers how it was growing up Chinese in Augusta, Georgia. It was inspired by Crystal's grandmother’s story about the family’s grocery store in Augusta. Her family grew up in a Black neighborhood.
