A New Career in Agritourism
from Growing Destinations
The COVID – 19 pandemic upended the zoology careers of Diana and Dean Treangen. The husband-and-wife team leaned in on their animal background and training to start something new. On their 45-acre farm in Dennison, MN, they raise a rare breed of sheep and utilize the wool to support an emerging agritourism business. Their farm has become a classroom for young and old. An annual harvest-fiber festival attracts vendors from throughout the upper Midwest. Next up for the Treangens is to engage with tour groups and homeschoolers and provide them greater opportunities to connect with nature.
