"A New-Fashioned Christmas" is a poem in which the narrator, drowsily dismissing old traditions as outdated, suddenly encounters a strangely transformed Santa Claus — sleek, modern, and coldly certain that Christmas customs belong to the past. He no longer slides down chimneys, drives no sleigh, and declares peace and goodwill simply out of fashion.
