A New Humanity

We find ourselves in the middle of a defining moment as not only a nation, but as humanity. In the wake of the tragic murder of George Floyd, and the social unrest, we may find ourselves filled with questions. We ask ‘Where is God in this suffering?’ and ‘What is our role in the middle of this?’ Pastor Erwin McManus refers to Ephesians 2, emphasizing that God created us to be one diverse and beautiful family. Mosaic was created with a love for diversity. Because God is creative, we were designed to enjoy his creativity in the way he made humanity. When we find ourselves in the middle of pain, it can be difficult to imagine that God is right in the middle of it with us. The truth is that God is using the pain to create a new humanity that comes together to celebrate and bring healing to one another.
