A new poll from AARP finds that Pennsylvania’s older voters could tip the scales in 2022
In Pennsylvania’s race for governor, “50-plus” voters narrowly support Josh Shapiro over Doug Mastriano—48- to 47-percent. And, in the Senate-race, John Fetterman is slightly ahead of Mehmet Oz among older voters—49- to 46-percent. That’s according to a new survey from “A-A-R-P Pennsylvania”. Bill Johnston-Walsh is the group’s state-director… “Pennsylvanians ‘50-plus’ comprise an outsized portion of the state’s voters; in fact, they accounted for over 60-percent of all voters in 2018’s midterms. This year, we found that only 31-percent of Pennsylvania’s older voters believe that the economy is personally working well for them—while a full 87-percent are extremely motivated to vote in the general election, this November. With prices skyrocketing for such necessities as groceries, gas, and prescription-drugs, Pennsylvanians want their leaders to provide solutions. And, if candidates want to win, they better pay attention to issues that matter to the ‘50-plus’ voters—which also include Medicare, Social Security, and long-term care.” For more about how, when, and where to vote in Pennsylvania, visit “a-a-r-p”-dot-org-slash-“p-a-votes”.
