A new program helps Floridians with disabilities become first-time savers and investors
The “Florida Prepaid-College Board” has helped more than a million families save, over the last 30 years. And, their newest program is helping individuals with varying disabilities become savers and investors, for the first time. Director John Finch has more… “‘ABLE’-accounts became a reality thanks to a group of parents who were looking for a way to save, for their children with disabilities. ‘ABLE United’ offers tax-free savings- and investment-accounts that allow individuals to save more than the two-thousand-dollar asset-limit—without impacting public-benefit programs, such as ‘Medicaid’ and ‘Supplemental Security Income’. We’re excited to share that the annual contribution-limit is now increasing to 16-thousand dollars, per year. Funds in an ‘ABLE’-account can be used for everyday living-expenses—or for long-term savings-goals.” To learn more about Florida’s disability-savings program, visit “able-united”-dot-com; again, that’s “able-united”-dot-com.
