A new report shows significant reductions in consumer calories from beverages

from North American Network

Nationwide, calorie-consumption from beverages has decreased by 10-percent, since 2014. That’s according to the latest evaluation of a public commitment by the beverage-industry, brokered by the “Alliance for a Healthier Generation”—which is working toward a goal of a 20-percent reduction. Kathy Higgins is “Healthier Generation’s” C-E-O… “We’ve worked with America's leading beverage-companies, to help families make informed choices that reduce the sugar and calories [that] they get from beverages. This nationwide effort—known as the ‘Beverage Calories Initiative’—is seeing real results. These companies—‘The Coca-Cola Company’, ‘Keurig/Doctor Pepper’, and ‘Pepsi-Co’—are bolstering low- and zero-sugar product-offerings that support individuals achieving more balance in their lives. Today, 57-percent of all purchased beverages are zero-sugar. Together, industry and public-health can reduce sugar in the diet—and help improve the health of individuals and their families.” To learn more, visit “healthier-generation”-dot-org-slash-“b-c-i”.
