A New Season Begins

Every sportsman knows the feeling of a season opener. Whatever happened last year — the buck that slipped away, the fish that broke off, the days that produced nothing — none of it matters when the new season begins. The slate is clean. The woods and water are full of possibility again.Today marks Day 1 of a new year in this journey. God specializes in new beginnings. Through Isaiah, He told a people stuck in their past: forget the former things. Not because the past didn't happen, but because dwelling there keeps you from seeing what He is doing now.Whatever last year held — victories or failures, answered prayers or long silences — today is a fresh start. God is doing a new thing in you. It is springing up right now. The question He asks is simple: do you not perceive it? Open your eyes to this new season. Walk into it expectant.Prayer:Lord, thank You for new beginnings. Whatever I carried out of last season — regret, disappointment, even success that tempts me to coast — I lay it down today.You are doing a new thing in my life. Give me eyes to perceive it and courage to step into it fully. Make this year one of growth, faithfulness, and deeper trust in You.
