A new snapshot of America’s religious affiliations VERBATIM: It comes from the Pew Research Center and it reveals that 40% of adults in this country identify as Protestant Christians. 21% are Catholics and nine percent belong to all other faith groups. The poll also finds that 28% of respondents are atheists, agnostics or followers of no particular religion.
