I love tuna! My favorite food is tuna sushi. Tuna tastes good. It's a healthy food too. Many of us eat tuna. Fishermen catch the tuna we eat. They catch seven billion kilograms every year! That's a lot of tuna! 我喜歡吃鮪魚壽司。鮪魚好吃又健康。很多人都吃鮪魚,漁民每一年捕撈70億公斤的鮪魚! But that's too much tuna. The number of tuna fish is smaller every year. That's not good. What happens when the number is too small? The number of fish cannot get big again. Restaurants and supermarkets won't have much tuna. Then one day there will be no tuna fish. 鮪魚的數量每一年都在減少,假如太少,鮪魚將沒有辦法再恢復到從前。未來世界上就沒有鮪魚了。 A new company wants to help tuna fish. How does it help? It makes tuna! How does it make tuna? The company uses plants! It uses peas, algae, and other food from plants. It doesn't use fish. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems.
