A Parentified Family

Isaac and Rebekah's relationship had become unhealthy. Keeping secrets, throwing each other under the bus, and "parentification" all played a role in creating distance between the couple as well as their children. Families today can strengthen bonds and relationships through communication, working together with adults, and encouraging children to resolve conflict in healthy manners. Even though we may leave a dysfunctional family, God offers hope and healing by becoming a faithful parent in the life of Jacob, and the many others who have had to wrestle with family for peace, healing, and love.
